VISA INFORMATION:

Requirements for Visa


1. Polish and Lithuanian citizens are required to obtain an appropriate visa from this Embassy on their passports in order to visit India. For obtaining a visa, an application has to be made in the prescribed form that can be either obtained free of charge from this Embassy or downloaded from the Embassy web site.

2. Persons holding passports other than Polish and Lithuanian, and are normally resident in Poland, can also apply for an Indian visa by producing the necessary documents and paying the prescribed fee. For details, please contact the visa officer of this Embassy.

3. (a) All visa matters, i.e. enquiries, submitting completed visa applications, will be dealt with between 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. on every working day (Monday-Friday).

(b) Passports with visa affixed on them can be collected between 4.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. on every working day (Monday-Friday).

4. Visas will normally be delivered in the afternoon on the same day the application is submitted.

5. The request for visa should be accompanied by the following documents:

(a) National passport valid at least for one year, with one free page for visa.

(b) Two copies of visa application form duly completed, according to passport, typed or filled manually but personally signed by the Applicant. No column should be left blank.

(c) Three identical photographs, passport size.

(d) Appropriate documents as indicated in para 6 below.

6. The different kinds of visas according to purpose of visit, the documentations required and the duration of the visa to be granted are indicated below:

Tourist
Persons travelling to India for tourism or social visits. Proof of return ticket. (Ticket to be produced on request and xerox copy of the ticket or confirmed booking to be attached to visa application.) Six months Multiple entry. (Caution: Tourist visa is non-extendable and cannot be used for any purpose other than tourism or social visits.)
Business Businessmen travelling to India for business purposes. ¡ Letter from the Polish firm (written in English) to which the businessmen belongs.

¡ Copies of documents from Indian firms with which business dealings are being pursued.
Maximum one year

Multiple entry on requirement basis.
Entry Visa Persons travelling to India for purpose other than tourism, social visits or business. Documents showing the purpose of the visit. Three months Single entry.
Transit Visa Transiting India. Proof of onward travel outside India. (Ticket to be produced on request and xerox copy of the ticket or confirmed booking to be attached to visa application.) 14 days from the date of arrival in India.

7 days from the date of arrival, in the case of seamen joining a ship.



7. No fee is required to be paid by Polish nationals for obtaining a visa. Lithuanian passport holders will have to pay a fee of 184PLN (in Polish currency only) along with their visa application.

8. Special permits are required to be taken from India to visit certain restricted areas, details of which may be obtained from the visa officer of this Embassy.

9. Visa when granted is valid from the date of issue and not from the date of arrival in India.
