VISA INFORMATION:
The High Commission accepts visa applications from Mozambicans and Swazi nationals. Visa applications from other nationals resident in either Mozambique or Swaziland are also accepted, subject to their providing proof of residence (DIRE/Resident Permit). Applications from other nationals, not resident in Mozambique/Swaziland are also accepted and processed, subject to clearance by the Indian Mission in the country of the applicant.
Visa applications are accepted from 09:00h to 12:00h on all working days. Visa applications from Mozambicans/Swazis as well as other resident nationals are processed and visas granted on the next working day. Visa applications from non-resident other nationals take a minimum of three days to process and will be issued subject to clearance from the Indian Mission in the country of the applicant.
Applications for consular services will be accepted only during the specified time. All documents, passports, visas, etc. may also be collected only during the specified time. No applications will be received, nor consular documents delivered/collected outside the specified timing except, depending upon each individual circumstance, for applicants coming from Swaziland or outside Maputo.
Requirements for Visa
- Two recent photographs
- For Non-Mozambican applicants, the original Resident Permit (DIRE) with a copy
- For Business Visa, a letter of invitation from the concerned Indian Company/Firm or recommendation from the local Chamber of Commerce along with a company profile and letter from the applicant’s company/firm
- For Student Visa, a confirmed offer of admission from the concerned Indian institution along with an undertaking of financial guarantee from the sponsor/parents
- For Conference Visa, Invitation letter along with a No Objection or clearance from the Government of India to the organisers of the Conference
- For Pakistani nationals and nationals of Pakistani origin, four visa forms (for Pak nationals) are to be filled in and affixed with recent photographs along with a copy of Resident Permit (DIRE) as well as all previous Passports. Visa will be granted only with prior clearance from the concerned authorities in India.

Visa fees can be paid in cash only, either in Metical or in US Dollars.

The prescribed validity of the visa commences from the date of issue of the visa and not from the date a person enters India. All persons holding visa valid for more than 180 days, except children below 16 years and certain categories of persons holding such visas with the stipulation that each stay must not exceed 180 days, should register themselves with the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office within 14 days of arrival in India. Visiting foreign nationals should also ensure that they leave India before the expiry of visa.
No visa fee is required for the following nationals. However, service/telex/postal charges will be charged, as applicable.
